Induction Project-Self Portrait

How I plan to do my self portrait
I will do my self portrait in a style that shows off signs that it's me, but it's not going to look all that much like me. I will look up different styles of self portraits and see if I can get an idea of what style to draw myself in. I have already looked up people like picasso and van gogh, but I will also look into less known artist self portraits to see if I can get an idea of what to do.

                   Practicing face proportions
We practiced sketching the proportions of the face, to prepare to do our self portraits.

This is my first attempt at the method...

Step 1:Draw a circle, this circle is the top of the head.

Step 2:Draw a line down from the top of the circle, this is the central line of the face and it will determine how long or short a person or characters face is.

Step 3:Next I drew in the jawline, you draw this near the bottom of the circle.

Step 4:Next you draw three lines in the exact order I have, the eye line is the top one, the one at the base of the circle is the nose line and the one a margin below that is the line for the mouth.

Step 5: Next I drew in the eye sockets, nostrils and I lightly drew in the lips.
Step 6:I drew in the eyes, defined the nose and shaded in the lips; I also drew in the ears and the eyebrows.

Step 7: Finally I added the the hair and I faintly drew in the neck and shoulders.

Grid Drawing
To practice drawing a face, we had picture of different celebrities on a grid and we were given a blank bit of paper with the same grid, this made it easier to draw facial proportions.

 Practising Facial Proportions Again

This is a picture I did of a skull, this was to practise the facial structure of the face. this will help me to better understand what the human head is actually supposed to look like.

This is the self portrait I did by looking at myself in the mirror
I drew this portrait of myself by looking in a mirror and it will ultimately help me to draw faces way better than before.

This is my time-lapse of me working on my portrait

The time-lapse didn't cover everything so I'll show the rest. I defined the glassed more adding all the  highlights and shades on the rims and painting in the highlight on the lenses.
